5th November

I don’t think I’ve pushed or publicised a balloon day as much as we have the Birmingham day coming up this Wed 8th November. Specific emails, three short videos about the days and mentioning it on quite a few balloon pages. I did not realise there were so many of them. It really has been a struggle getting people attending the balloon days since covid. We have noticed other balloon events have been pulled or cancelled last minute as well so it’s not just the care and share days but others as well. We have always tried to offer the balloon days at really silly prices and offer fantastic value for money. Like Wednesday, it’s only £10 to attend but you get a £10 voucher to spend at the day… so it’s free and yet we still are having trouble getting the numbers in.
I’m assuming many reasons, cost of living as people still have to travel. Zoom and online, as since covid many workshops and subscription sites are available, even I have some Zoom’s and online training with my subscription website, BUT nothing beats actually being there and in person, you do get so much more from the days. Plus there are now so so many online and download balloon courses, I did not realise how many till I started my one up over 18 months ago now. So how do we get people coming back to the days because the newer people in the industry do not realise the benefits of meeting up, sharing ideas and also marketing tips as well. You get so much more from an actual live event, when chatting over a coffee or meal after the event and then the day and the workshops themselves. If you have never attended one then you do not realise this…  until you have been to one. We even have a nice new little slogan, (BEL) Balloon Education Live, every time I write this I always add Ding Dong, makes me smile and chuckle, I know … Graham grow up, I don’t think there is much chance of that especially at my age… he he.

So we have two events coming up, Birmingham on the 8th November and the Sutton on the 5th December,
booking details are here, Balloon Days.

So talking of my subscription site, the November tutorial is for the Helicopter design, there are I think about 35 tutorials to view and the cost is just a pound a week plus VAT (Tax). This is the website if you’d like to take a look, The Balloon Artistes Guild.

Plus over on Balloon Chat the model of the month for November is the Cup/Trophy design we came up with a few weeks back. The step by step tutorial is here if you’d like to take a look, Model of the Month, Cup/Trophy.

The random balloon picture of the week is the Helicopter design that is on The Balloon Artistes Guild website.
