We had an unusual gig yesterday, well I did two 2 hour parties, so feeling a little tired today. The first one was for a nursery open day, I was paid to be there but they were going to be charging people to purchase the balloons. We had been back and forth with designs and they only wanted very basic, one balloon Sausage dog, one balloon Sword, two balloon flower and a two balloon unicorn hat. All were £2 and I was kept busy all the time and the children were happy to get the Sword and Dog. Plus and this is a big plus I had more time to chat and interact with everyone, it was way so more relaxed and got me thinking. I have a two day gig coming up and 6 hours of twisting both days, now not sure I can stand for that long both days and feel shattered from four hours yesterday and that was with a 90 minute break in between. So I was thinking about sitting down with a table and battery pump and setting up similar to a face painter and have the recipient sitting opposite so we can chat and interact and only have a select choice of designs to pick from, maybe ten. Just thoughts going through my mind at the moment.
Oh the other gig yesterday was twisting at a pool party for over 100 children, I got a last minute panic call from Danielle whose gig it was on Thursday night, seeing if I was free as the client just messaged with numbers and Danielle was doing face painting and balloons. This turned out to be a fun gig which I enjoyed, there was so much going on, I think I only had five children ever waiting at a time. So full on working for two hours but very enjoyable. Danielle did three hours non stop face painting and always goes that little extra to help clients out.
Tomorrow I’m off again to a David Lloyd centre teaching the staff to balloon model, these are usually good fun and its nice
to see people’s reactions, the last one I did was the best one so far with everyone very keen and interested to learn.
We have had three large pallets of balloons arrive over the last 10 days and stock is starting to pick back up, the website has been updated and we do have a good stock of a lot of the products at the moment. Balloon Art Wholesale.
