Sometimes things happen and you are amazed with what people say, we have had this happen a couple of times over the past two weeks. You think you have seen and heard everything and then something else pops up, I was surprised but hey ho, moving on and don’t forget to keep smiling XXxx
I went to the Kent Magicians Guild 40th anniversary meal Friday night, what a fab night catching up with many, wonderful food and a superb cabaret, Bertie Pearce. He is just so funny, off the wall and a little quirky, definitely my cup of tea and a great night. I don’t get down there very often now as they meet on a Tuesday and I mainly run the balloon days early in the week so we are either running the day or travelling to the event and it clashes. A little info, I was the President of the Kent Magicians guild from 1998 till 2022 so will always have a soft spot for the club. Like many magic clubs it was being reduced number wise but with a new group pushing from the front it is definitely a club on the up. If you would like more details then please get in touch and I’d be happy to pass them on.
I’ve been back to doing some DIY the past few days as we are thinking about making a move from where we have lived for the past 32 years. And we do have some clutter, shock horror that will need shifting as well…….PLUS sorting the balloon warehouse out, that will be a challenge and have to be like a military operation so that we can have a really smooth change over. So watch this space as they say.
Had a nice Zoom session last week, we explained the Princess Crown and a Crocodile hat that I have been making for a few years now. Some of the designs are now so old they are new again, he he. If you’d like to take a look at the designs then I posted them here on Balloon Chat, September Zoom.
We have two Zoom’s next month, one will be a basic balloon modelling session that will be open to anyone, well the first 20 who register. We will be explaining a Sausage Dog, Sword, Rabbit, Flower and a Teddy. I will advertise it on my Facebook page if anyone would like to attend. The Zoom for club members will be on Monday 23rd October where we will be explaining the new Mickey Mouse design I have been working on.
We have two balloon workshop days now booked in and confirmed, Wednesday 8th November in Birmingham and Tuesday 5th Dec in Sutton. If you could please post on other balloon groups and let others know about the days it would be very much appreciated. In Birmingham I have Amanda Smith running one of the workshops with me and in Sutton we have Rod Driscoll and Danielle Burnige doing a workshop with myself as well. Booking details can be found here, Balloon Workshop Days.
That’s me for this week, off to find the random balloon picture of the week. I went with Mickey Mouse that will be the Zoom for club members next month and I’m sure we will be explaining the design at one of the balloon days that we have coming up.
