We can finally mention that the TV advert I helped David Crofts with back in September 2021 has finally aired and we can chat about it. It was made for “We Buy Any Car” and filmed with Phillip Schofield. David and Jana worked on the design and they asked Roger Daws and myself to help. The car took two days to build at David’s house and then we finished it at the film studio on day three, that was a very long day as it had to be ready for the next day’s filming.Then I stayed on day four for the filming and to make sure nothing popped or needed re-placing. We have started to post some pictures from the build and have over 120 to post over the next few days. Car Pictures.
We have another balloon day all booked in for this week on Tuesday 28th June, it’s local to me this one and in Sutton. All the designs will be on linework with many of the designs being two balloons and a scrap. I’m running three sessions and Danielle Burnige from Dantastic Designs is running the other session for us. We still have spaces available if anyone would like to book, Sutton Balloon Day.
I had an eventful Saturday, a job was booked 8/10 weeks back over in Edgware and I was going to travel over on the tube as I find it to stressful to drive up and around London. So because of the rail strike we had to go for plan B and drive. Some people are so impatient with bibbing and the occasional hand gesture, it’s like a different world. I also had to pay the ULEZ charge as my sat nav said to turn up a permit only road so I missed that and got taken into the charging area. Was not a problem as on the way back Kew Bridge Road was closed so I got diverted back into the ULEZ charge again. But on the way hole I think I did drive down a permit only road, it’s very difficult to tell with so much written onto a sign as you actually turn into the road. No idea how people are meant to avoid this? Perhaps actually put up a no entry sign that everyone recognises and then have details underneath when the permitted driving times are. I expect I will find out in 7/10 days’ time if a penalty charge comes through the letter box. Fingers crossed I was out of the charge time zone as it was late Saturday afternoon……….but no idea….. time will tell.
The plan for the new paid for forum is still on for the 1st August, I have all the DVD’s downloaded and onto my computer. We have six tutorials filmed so three more to sort out and then the three zoom workshops for those who sign up will go ahead in Oct, Nov and Dec. We might try different times and days for the Zoom’s as if people sign up from all over the world then they will all be on different time zones. I could possibly record them but think I’d rather it be live, but time will tell.
We have a free Zoom workshop this coming Wednesday 29th June on the new Fish hat design, there are still a couple of places left, we only have 20 maximum so it’s not to busy and manageable for myself to run. Free Zoom Workshop.
