I’m back… did you miss me, he he.
We were in Paris last week helping out at a charity event, it was eventful as we got caught up with the riots that were happening at the same time. It was a little scary, we set the hall on the Saturday afternoon and on the drive home got caught up with the people marching, hundreds passing the car on either side, all masked up so we could only see their eyes. Then got stopped, we were the third car back as they barricaded the road with anything they could find, Sarah had to reverse back, go down a no entry road and through some red lights to get away. It was all a little scary, on the way in on the Sunday morning for the show we had to dodge around a few barricades that were still smoldering after they had all been set on fire. The event was packed and sold out and everyone turned up, the day just went on as normal and was a laugh, although it was a pretty long day. The mini jam we had on the Thursday was nice as well, we had five people attending, we have nearly posted all the pictures, just a few more to go, Paris Mini Jam.
I got home late Monday night, Eurostar to London was fine, I even upgraded to Premium, it was only £15 and we got drinks and a meal included, was nice and a little different, Usually its £80/100 pound which for me is not really worth it but for £15 we would do it again as you also miss the queues when arriving and going through passport control and security. Getting home from London to Carshalton was a challenge as all the trains were cancelled, trespassers on the line, goodness knows how many managed to get home. I was lucky and got the tube to Morden and then a bus to Carshalton, added an extra forty minutes but we got home safe and sound after another adventure to Paris. The next one planned is for the Easter show next year.
Since being back and catching up with emails and orders etc we have been sorting out Balloon Towers, which is my office come study come balloon room. When we moved in we did not finish the floor or wallpapering one of the walls and fitting the skirting, so I thought it was time to sort all that out. Had to move a lot of things about and move things down into the bedroom so we could move the desk and computer, so gaining access to the wall that needs finishing. I will get it done slowly over the next few weeks.
That’s me then, off to find the random balloon picture of the week. I went with the Digger we made a while back for a Facebook challenge during lockdown, there are a couple of easier Digger tutorials if you’d like to take a look,
