We have booked in the next Zoom for club members for 24th January. I will explain the wreath weave we made just before Christmas and then will be open to ideas that anyone has for the rest of the time. The plan is only to make a small section of the wreath as then its just repetition. I have also booked the first in person balloon day for 2023, it will be local as usual for the first one of the year, in Sutton on the 31st January. We are aiming on going back to how the days used to be when we first started them back in 2005, some 17 years ago, goodness it was a while ago now. But I still enjoy doing them and fingers crossed we can carry them on for a few more years. So there will be plenty of time for jamming but I will also show a couple of designs, can run through the wreath idea as that does follow the numbers idea so might be helpful and then we can make a design I’m working on at the time. Or I’m happy to take a request or two, as long as I can remember how to make it, he he. I think I have forgotten how to make so many things, it must be old age, he he. Anyway if you would like to book for the day it is free to attend as you get a voucher to spend at the day for the £10 fee it is to come. You can book here, Sutton Balloon Day.
David Crofts is coming to Blackpool with me this year and we have been chatting about what design to make, we got it down to I think two and I was happy with either one. But I noticed David was leaning more to one of the designs so we have decided to go with that. What will it be, you will have to wait and see, all will be revealed around the 16th February. We have though for the first time ever made a small section of the design to try and work out sizing and the time it might take us to weave the design.
The Train competition that we run has now closed and we have our two winners, Sally Povey guessed the nearest to the time it took to build and Gemma Wright was nearest to the number of balloons that were used. Gemma won access to the balloon artistes guild for 2022 and Sally got three balloon modelling DVD’s, luckily she does have a DVD player so things worked out OK.
If anyone would like to join “The Balloon Artistes Guild” then this is the link, we do have a split payment scheme to help,
BAG Membership.
That’s me then for this week, off to find the random balloon picture of the week,
I went with the Lion design that is on the tutorial website for 2023.
