I’m back from the Blackpool Magic Convention, we got back around 5pm last night. Then putting all the stock away and getting new stock to take up to Blackpool again this Thursday for the Balloon Convention that starts Friday till late Sunday. It’s been all go and still more product to sort and then pack the car again, we are taking the rest of the Qualatex product with us to sell, hopefully with nearly 200 balloon artistes we will be able to shift a few bags… well we are hoping, fingers crossed.
Thanks to David Crofts for coming to Blackpool with me to man the stand, I’ve known David for over 30 years and we do have a laugh together, it was fun. Plus we have different styles in twisting designs and approach to talking with everyone who comes to the stand, so that is a bonus as well. We did take a few pictures and I will start posting them late next week when we are back from convention two and way more organised. We did not make a massive ball0on sculpture this year but a balloon dog from fourteen 16″ round balloons, adding raisin twists as we went. I will start posting the pictures here, Blackpool Magic 2026.
With so much stock coming in while I was away we did get my grandson Zakh over to help Lyn, then today my new to me second hand desk arrived, very antique looking, mainly because it is… he he But they don’t make quality items like that anymore. It was not much more expensive then the new three bits of chipboard and a couple of draws that are made nowadays. So we are well pleased, the added bonus was we purchased from a Hospice charity shop so the monies raised go for good causes, so hopefully it’s win win all the way around.
Off to find the random balloon picture of the week. I went with the Love Heart that is explained here if you’d like to take a look, Love Heart Balloon.
