Back from the Trix magic convention and another complete surprise, I was awarded the Jeremy Le Poidevin award. Jeremy started the children’s magic convention around 20 years back now with Alec Powell and it was called Kidology. Then 13 years ago Jeremy started his own event up which has grown from strength to strength over the years, Jeremy sadly passed away a few years ago now and they set up the award in his honour. I was there sitting and listening and wondering who it would be this year and then about half way through realised it was myself, I was in total shock and what a lovely surprise. Many thanks to John, Gary and Tamar and everyone else who make the convention what it is, the whole event was fun and well worth attending. I enjoyed my balloon workshop the day before but for me the lecture by Danny Buckler was amazing and hit home with a few good thought provoking moments, very inspiring, if you get the chance to see Danny then do…
So with being put into the British Balloon Bash Hall of Fame back in March this year and now with the Jeremy award,
goodness what a year and all for a guy who just twists balloons and loves latex.
THANK YOU to everyone, it’s been a pleasure and so much fun over the years, I’m driving up to Birmingham later for the Care & Share day we are having tomorrow, still have spaces available if anyone would like to attend, Birmingham Balloon Day.
I’d better get back into the swing of things with the Zoom’s and recording some more tutorials, then tomorrow at the Birmingham day we have the big announcement of the way the days will be running for 2026.
