14th January

Another week has gone by and its blog day again. So this week we have been doing a little DIY and sorting out my Dad’s house as we are on the move from Balloon Towers. Yes we have been here for 32 years, coming up for 33 years in April so a very long time. Still enjoying the process but gets a little stressful now and again with all the extra added costs involved with moving. It does cost a few pennies but we are still both smiling about it.

I have started The Balloon Artistes guild up again for 2024, will see how it goes, at the moment we have four members signed up, if the numbers are still low by the end of the month then we might have to think about calling it a day. Last year we ended up with 29 members so that made us break even which is fine, I do this for the love of the latex so fingers crossed we get a few more people joining over the coming weeks. The first Zoom will be on Wed 31st January at 8pm UK time, we will be making a variation on Winnie the Pooh, the smaller quicker version than the larger tutorial one that we do sell via the website. If you would like to join then this is the link, The Balloon Artistes Guild.

There are a few designs available if anyone would like to purchase one or two, they are available here, Balloon Tutorials.

Made a car this week, the person was into Morgan cars so I had something similar but a little different, I sent them the design that I previously made a couple of years back and they liked it and were happy so we went with that style as I rather liked the look of the car as well. It does have a few un-inflated balloons holding the design in here and there underneath so we got the overall shape and look that we were after. There is a thread on Balloon Chat which I added the car to, Balloon Car.

That’s me then for this week, off to find the random balloon picture of the week,
not to random as it’s going to be the car we made.
